Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a skilled welder to perform pipe welding and fabrication in a heavy industry setting. The role requires TIG, Stick and Flux-Cored Arc welding with the ability to certify for multi-process pipe welding and to read blueprints and metallurgy.

Responsibilities include field layout, aligning and welding components to assemble pipe systems, tanks, vessels and frames, in various positions, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience welding pipe using TIG, Stick and FCAW processes.
• Ability to certify on multi-process pipe welding.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and metallurgy.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or other related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts and welding operations, applying knowledge of geometry and metal properties.
• May use various welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW) as specified by procedure.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components for welding.
• Welds and assembles piping systems, tanks, vessels, and structural shapes in various positions.
• Ensures safety and quality standards are followed.
• May assist with maintenance and cleanup of tools and equipment.
