Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled welder to assemble structural forms and piping per blueprints. Proficient in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW with the ability to read metallurgy specs. You will select materials, plan layouts, and weld in flat to overhead positions, using a range of arc welding processes.

Safety and quality are paramount as you fabricate, inspect and repair parts as required. This role may require X-ray qualification and adherence to company safety rules; we offer a

Qualifications

• Proficient in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes with the ability to read blueprints.
• May require x-ray quality certification or capability.
• Ability to interpret metallurgical data and welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding using geometry and metal properties.
• Welds components in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions per procedure.
• Operates and adjusts welding equipment to achieve correct amperage, voltage and pulse.
• Inspects welds for bead size and conformance; applies filler where needed.
• Loads, transports and secures materials and tools; maintains a safe work area.
