Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services seeks an experienced welder to join our structural welding team. You will read blueprints, lay out components, and weld using SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW across various positions. Maintain quality, ensure safety, and perform routine equipment maintenance.

The role requires attention to precision, the ability to interpret metallurgy, and adherence to procedures. Training and development opportunities are provided within a safety‑mocused environment.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret metallurgy.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or materials per specs.
• Plans layouts and welding using knowledge of geometry and weld techniques.
• Operates various welding processes (GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW) as required.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components for welding.
• Welds components in multiple positions and performs tack welds as needed.
• Connects welding equipment and adjusts amperage, voltage and pulse as specified.
• Maintains weld quality by monitoring bead size and fusion.
• Performs routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Ensures safety rules are followed.
