Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced welder to lay out, align, and weld fabrications such as machinery frames, tanks, and piping systems in accordance with blueprints and metallurgy.

The role involves selecting materials, planning layouts, and performing welding in various positions using arc welding processes. Strong attention to precision, geometry, and safety is essential for successful completion of assemblies.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, align and weld fabricated parts according to blueprints and metallurgy.
• Select materials and plan layouts, assembly and welding using geometry and welding techniques.
• Weld in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) and verify bead size and fusion.
• Connect cables and set amperage/voltage as specified by procedure or supervisor.
• Move and position materials safely and assist with maintenance of tools and equipment.
