Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services seeks a skilled welder capable of multi-process welding (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW) and pipe fabrication. The role involves laying out, aligning and welding components to assemble structural forms, tanks, vessels, and piping per blueprints and specifications.

The position requires ability to plan layouts, select processes, and operate welding equipment while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity on site.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in welding.
• Knowledge of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and related welding procedures.
• Ability to read specifications, blueprints and metallurgy data.
• Commitment to safety rules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe or related materials per specifications.
• Plan layouts, assembly and welding using geometry and metal properties.
• Operate various welding processes as required by procedure.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together.
• Weld and assemble piping systems, plates, pipes and structures.
• Tack weld assemblies when needed.
• Set up welding power, electrodes and parameters as directed.
• Inspect welds for bead size, fusion, and quality.
• Move loads and handle tools and materials safely.
• Follow safety and project rules at all times.
