Job summary

Atkore International in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator Lead on the 2nd shift (4:00pm-12:30am, Monday–Friday) at $23.00 per hour plus a $1 shift differential. The role reports to the Fabrication Supervisor and focuses on pre-operation activities, equipment startup, and monitoring during production to ensure quality and minimize downtime.

You will lead and guide other Fabrication Machine Operators, participate in safety programs, and cross-train across shop areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Experience as a Machine Operator.
• Knowledge of Production Procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Analytical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Teamwork.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• Handle heavy equipment.
• Work independently.
• Multitask.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in safety program.
• Provide direction to other Fabrication Machine Operators.
• Cross train in different areas of the shop.
• Follow safety controls and PPE requirements.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment for quality production.
• Communicate with team to maintain continuous production.
• Maintain housekeeping and sanitation.
