City of Las Cruces is seeking a dedicated wastewater maintenance technician to lead repair work on plant equipment and lift stations. You will operate Vactor trucks and assist with preventive maintenance to keep systems running smoothly.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and accurate record-keeping, with some outside work and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED AND three (3) years of wastewater plant maintenance OR wastewater system maintenance.
• A combination of education, experience, and training may be applied in accordance with City policy.

Responsabilités

• Lead and perform the repair and maintenance of wastewater plant equipment and systems.
• Operate Vactor trucks and lift stations to prevent spills and restore service.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist other crews as needed.
• Maintain records, logs, and work orders; communicate with vendors and staff.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulatory compliance during all tasks.
