Job summary

Staples in Durham, NC is seeking a Lead Material Handling Equipment Operator to mentor staff and assist supervision in a fast-paced warehouse.

You will operate forklifts and other equipment, lift up to 100 pounds, keep the workspace clean, and follow safety procedures. 12+ months warehousing experience and the ability to pass a drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
• If you are hired as a Full-Time associate, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; overtime hours will be required based on business need.
• Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must wear safety composite work shoes.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Lead Material Handling Equipment Operator: mentor and train new material handlers and fill in for supervisors as needed.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse following safety procedures.
• You will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.
