Job summary

Staples, Inc. is seeking a Lead Material Handling Equipment Operator in Durham, NC to mentor new material handlers and support supervisory coverage in a fast-paced warehouse.

You will safely operate forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, and electric pallet jacks, uphold safety procedures, and help keep the team productive and compliant with policies. Staples offers competitive pay and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to pass a drug screen where permissible by law.
• If hired as Full-Time, overtime hours may be required based on business needs.
• Ability to lift, push or pull merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must wear safety composite work shoes.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Lead MHE Operator duties including mentoring and training new material handlers.
• Fill in for supervisors as needed in a fast-paced warehouse.
• Operate material handling equipment to move product while adhering to safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and support site safety culture.
