Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Lead VDC Engineer to manage project BIM data and support VDC execution on large commercial projects. You will work with on-site VDC and BIM engineers, aligning with operations to implement the VDC plan and ensure model integrity.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, a 4-year degree in civil/structural engineering or related fields, and strong software skills in Autodesk Navisworks and Excel-based templates. On-site Houston-based position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in civil/structural eng, architecture, or construction management.
• 3–5 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong understanding of construction documents and 3D design tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain project VDC execution plans.
• Coordinate with project manager and VDC manager on strategies.
• Oversee model quality and data dissemination.
• Support on-site VDC engineers and operations.
• Assist in introducing new software, processes and tech.
• Coordinate VDC schedule and align with field teams.
• Validate real-world alignment between survey and 3D models.
