Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Supervisor to oversee field operations, ensure DoD compliance, and lead multiple UXO teams in remediation and clearance projects. Locations span numerous U.S. sites including Miami, FL and Tampa, FL. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and effective client communication.

The ideal candidate has extensive UXO/EOD experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex field operations while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

Qualifications

• Meet UXO Technician III, UXO Quality Control Specialist, and UXO Safety Officer qualifications per DoD Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18.
• 9+ years EOD/UXO experience including munitions response actions or range clearance.
• 5+ years supervisory experience overseeing UXO or related field operations.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refreshers.
• Current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Training certification.
• Experience managing an Explosive Safety Program.
• Willingness to travel and work in remote field environments.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with DoD Military Service and DDESB-approved site plans.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site munitions response activities and range clearance projects.
• Lead and supervise multiple UXO field teams with technical guidance and oversight.
• Review and evaluate daily field reports and project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assess risks in movement of UXO/DMM within MRS or ranges and approve movements when risks are acceptable.
• Ensure PPE, exclusion zones, and safety measures align with DoD policies and DoD/DDESB requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and site health and safety plan compliance.
• Support project managers and clients through effective communication, scheduling, and planning.
