Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Supervisor to oversee field operations across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with DoD requirements and safety standards. The role leads UXO teams in munitions response actions and range clearance activities.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years in EOD/UXO, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage complex field programs while maintaining safety and quality. Travel to field sites is required.

Qualifications

• Meet the qualifications and perform the functions of a UXO Technician III (UXO-TIII), UXO Quality Control Specialist (UXOQCS), and UXO Safety Officer (UXOSO) as defined in DoD Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18.
• Minimum 9 years of EOD/UXO experience, including significant experience performing munitions response actions and/or range clearance activities.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience overseeing UXO or related field operations.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refreshers.
• Current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Training certification.
• Demonstrated experience managing an Explosive Safety Program.
• Strong working knowledge of MEC, particularly UXO.
• Experience implementing PPE requirements and health and safety procedures.
• Ability to travel and work in remote field environments as project needs require.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with DoD Military Service and/or DDESB-approved site plans.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site munitions response activities and range clearance projects.
• Lead and supervise multiple UXO field teams, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Review and evaluate daily field reports and project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assess risks with UXO/DMM movement within a MRS or operational range and approve movement when safe.
• Ensure protective works, equipment, and exclusion zones meet DoD policies and safety regs.
• Promote a strong safety culture and maintain site health and safety plan compliance.
• Support project managers and clients through effective communication, scheduling, and planning.
