Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV and lead a small project team. You will perform cost analyses, develop design criteria, and handle siting, routing, and duct bank layouts, ensuring compliance with major codes and client requirements.

Ideal candidates have a BS from ABET-accredited programs, 5+ years of underground transmission project experience, and strong proficiency in CYMCAP and cable tensioning calculations.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling.
• Proficiency with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
• 5+ years of experience on underground transmission projects.
• Design knowledge to meet codes and client requirements (NESC, EPRI, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.
• Lead cost analyses, develop design criteria, and manage siting & routing challenges.
• Develop duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and drawing packages.
• Coordinate with vendors/clients to specify components and lead a small project team.
