Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Underground Transmission Design Lead in the United States to manage complex 500 kV projects, directing engineers, designers, and drafters. The role includes siting, routing, duct bank layouts, and coordinating with vendors and clients.

Hybrid work with relocation assistance is offered for qualified candidates. The position requires a BS from an ABET-accredited program, a PE license, and 12+ years leading design teams, with strong knowledge of NESC, EPRI,

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Current PE license.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling and cable tensioning calculations.
• 12+ years leading a design team on underground transmission projects.
• Experience with code requirements (NESC, EPRI, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC, ACI 318).

Responsibilities

• Design complex underground transmission lines up to 500 kV.
• Perform cost analyses and develop design criteria.
• Siting, routing, and manhole placement in complex environments.
• Develop duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and cable pulling calculations.
• Coordinate with vendors/clients and lead project team.
