Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV. The role involves cost analyses, siting and routing, and creating duct bank configurations and manhole layouts.

The candidate will lead a small project team, develop design criteria, and prepare specifications for installation and procurement of line materials, while coordinating with vendors and clients.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling.
• Proficiency with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
• 7+ years of experience on underground transmission projects.
• Design experience with code requirements, EPRI recommendations, client requirements.
• Experience with cost estimate development and schedule creation.

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.
• Lead a small project team of engineers, designers and drafters.
• Develop duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and cable installation specs.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
