Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV. The role includes cost analyses, design criteria development, siting and routing challenges, and duct bank layouts.

You will lead a small team and coordinate with vendors, ensuring adherence to codes and client specifications. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in office and two remote days, plus potential relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling.
• Proficiency with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
• 7+ years on a project team observing schedules and budgets for underground transmission projects.
• Experience with design to code requirements and client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.
• Lead cost analyses, develop design criteria, and route and manhole placement.
• Develop duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and cable pulling calculations.
• Prepare specifications for installation and procurement of underground transmission materials and components.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify line components.
• Direct a small project team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
