Job summary
South32 is seeking a Senior Engineer, Mine Services to lead the planning, design, and optimization of underground infrastructure at the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona. You will guide electrical distribution, paste systems, and related capital projects, collaborating with operations, planning, consultants, and contractors to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.
The role requires 7+ years of underground mining experience, a mining engineering degree, and strong skills in Deswik and
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field.
- 7+ years underground mining experience with mine infrastructure responsibility.
- Proficiency in Deswik, Backfill Pro, and Microsoft Suite.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead pastefill system upgrades and expansion projects.
- Provide technical leadership for underground electrical distribution.
- Manage infrastructure projects from concept development through commissioning.
- Coordinate with mine planning, operations, consultants and contractors.
- Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
