Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is seeking an Underground Mine Geologist for the Hermosa Project near Patagonia, Arizona.

The role focuses on collecting, validating, and interpreting geological data to support orebody delineation and stope design, with underground mapping, sampling, and drilling support. You'll work to maintain safety standards, contribute to QA/QC initiatives, and collaborate across Technical Services to integrate geology into the mining cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
• 0–3 years mining experience preferred but not required.
• Experience logging diamond drill core preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Leapfrog, Deswik, Vulcan, or AcQuire is a plus.
• Strong safety record and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct underground mapping, sampling and material routing.
• Support orebody delineation to inform stope design.
• Provide geological support for underground drilling activities.
• Compile mapping and assay data in 3-D software and integrate with models.
• Collaborate with engineering and Technical Services to ensure seamless geology integration.
• Assist in QA/QC initiatives and training of Geologists.
