Job summary

Philips is seeking a UI/UX Designer for Advanced Imaging in Bedford, MA. You will own the look and feel of SaMD/SiMD products, shaping typography, color, layout, icons and motion from concept to release, and translate clinician needs into production-ready UI.

You will build and maintain the design system, work with R&D, Marketing, Clinical and Regulatory, and collaborate with Philips IGT teams embedded in IGTD to define how design works in practice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing UI for software products that reached market, with a portfolio required.
• It should show visual craft (typography, color, iconography, layout) and data-dense, task-critical screens.
• You’re expert in Figma (components, variables, auto layout, prototyping) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• You’ve built or maintained a design system.
• You have working fluency in UX methods: user stories, workflow analysis, contextual inquiry and usability testing.
• Experience facilitating design sprints is a plus.
• Experience in medical devices or other regulated, high-consequence UI (aviation, automotive, industrial) is strongly preferred. Familiarity with design controls and IEC 62366-1 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the look and feel of the products: typography, color, layout, iconography and motion, across both SaMD and SiMD.
• Build and maintain the Advanced Imaging design system (components, tokens and patterns), aligned with Philips design language.
• Design for the cath lab: screens read at a distance on monitors, operated tableside, in low light and under time pressure.
• Deliver production-ready UI: high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, specs and assets engineers can build from directly.
• Partner with software engineers through implementation and confirm the shipped UI matches the design.
• Translate user needs, workflow observation and clinician feedback into interaction concepts. Run formative usability evaluations.
