Job summary

United Future is seeking a Senior Robotics & Controls Engineer to lead turnkey automation projects—from ground-up cell design to on-site commissioning. You will coordinate ROB platform setups (Fanuc/ABB/Yaskawa), develop PLC handshakes, and integrate Cognex/Keyence vision systems.

Travel will be 30–40% to domestic and international sites, with a strong emphasis on engineering craftsmanship. The role requires 4–6 years of robotics/PLC/vision experience, a 2- or 4-year engineering degree, and

Qualifications

• Requires 2-year or 4-year engineering degree.
• 4–6 years of dedicated robotic, PLC integration experience.
• Hands-on mastery of Fanuc, Yaskawa or ABB platforms with PLC troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with industrial vision systems and CAD/SolidWorks.
• Ability to diagnose complex automated machinery across multiple domains.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% and reside within 45-minute commute of Greater Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

• Initialize robotic platforms and calibrate I/O networks on major robot brands.
• Design control logic and architecture to ensure reliable PLC handshaking.
• Deploy vision systems for guidance, inspection and high-speed handling.
• Lead in-house assembly, wiring verification and EOAT integration.
• Execute field commissioning domestically and internationally.
• Support applications engineering with layout insights and feasibility data.
• Mentor in-house staff to optimize build workflows.
