Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks a Trimmer/Climber Foreperson to lead a crew, plan daily work, and enforce safety standards under the direction of a General Foreperson. You will train crew members, coordinate with customers, and maintain records and reporting to manage costs and productivity on job sites.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass pre-employment screenings. Union wage scale applies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Requires understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Possess organization skills and be able to multi-task.
• Capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
• Able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Due to equipment capacity, weight should not exceed ~300 pounds.
• No fear of heights.
• Willing to pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices as per policy and OSHA specifications; conducts safety training.
• Discusses customer issues and access with property owners; refers complex cases to the General Foreperson.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
• Maintains good customer relations through effective completion of work and crew conduct.
• Investigates minor incidents or damage claims; assists in settlements.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and reports on crew performance.
• Controls crew costs and efficient use of resources.
• Reports orders completed and crew metrics to Foreperson and utility representatives.
• Furnishes periodic reports on incidents, truck breakdowns, and follow-up actions.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets.
• Sets up barriers and signs to protect employees and the public.
