Job summary

Veit is seeking a Superintendent/Foreman to manage daily foundation project activities in the upper Midwest, with emphasis on safety, schedule, and quality. You will lead field staff, coordinate with general superintendents, and oversee subcontractors to ensure work meets plans and customer expectations.

The role requires extensive site leadership, travel (up to 50% in the region), and a commitment to safety and training. Union affiliation or willingness is noted in the job description.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience overseeing a crew for foundation systems.
• Experience with piledriving, micropiles, caisson, and helical piles.
• 5+ years with foundation/ground improvement equipment.
• OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR/First Aid.
• Ability to read policies, reports, plans, and legal docs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad and iPhone.
• Strong communication, scheduling, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts in field quantities.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily site activities for Foundations projects.
• Communicate with general superintendents and crews.
• Schedule subcontractors and monitor progress.
• Maintain safety and enforce policies.
• Prepare and participate in job site meetings.
• Document safety issues, equipment damage, and injuries.
• Ensure work quality and compliance with specs.
• Support staff training and development.
