Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.
• 10+ years’ experience with Chicago DOT/IDOT/Illinois Tollway or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead teams and build relationships.
• Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities.
• Transportation design and constructability review experience is a plus.
• Transit or utility project experience is a plus.
• Coachable with strong professional judgment and sense of humor.
• Comfortable taking initiative and exercising professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction project delivery team towards client-defined success
• Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders
• Provide composure and diplomatic problem solving
• Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
• Supervise general field inspection of road and bridge construction including measurement, calculation, and reporting of installed quantities
• Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules
• Monitor and analyze progress of contractor’s work
• Maintain various reports
• Mentor and lead inspection team
