Job summary

MECO Engineering in Pittsfield, IL seeks an experienced Transportation Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of regional transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have IDOT standards experience and a strong command of MicroStation and Bentley Civil products.

Responsibilities include planning, specifications, cost estimates, and collaborating with clients and agencies throughout the project lifecycle. Mentoring staff and ensuring quality deliverables are also required.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE with Illinois licensure preferred.
• Experience leading transportation design projects.
• Strong knowledge of IDOT standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway and transportation project design from concept to construction.
• Prepare plans, specs, and cost estimates per DOT guidelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and agencies throughout projects.
• Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and Bentley tools for design work.
• Support permitting, utility coordination, and public involvement as needed.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
