Our firm hasa well-established structural team and a solid pipeline of projects, three (3) of which haveroadway scope.We are looking for a transportation lead who can helpdeliver this roadway scope, as well asexpand our multidisciplinary capabilities and position us to compete for increasingly complex IDOT, Tollway, and transportation projects.

About the Job

We are looking for a licensedSenior Roadway Manager(Illinois PE) with 10+ years of experience to join our growing team.This is a leadership role for an experienced engineer who wantsto help shape, influence, and build something from the ground upto lead and grow our roadway/civil practice.

You will be involved in every phase of project delivery, from project scoping andplanningthrough final design and plan production forhighways, roadways, and related transportationinfrastructure. You will collaborate closelywiththe client and other engineering disciplines, to deliver technically sound, impactful infrastructure projects.

We have a strong pipeline of challengingtransportationworkahead and are looking for an experienced engineer ready to lead, mentor, and take an exciting next step in their career.

What You'll Do

• Lead the growth and development of the transportation/roadway departmentat 10-4 Engineering.
• Serve as Project Manager and/or Engineer of Record on roadway andcivil infrastructure projects.
• Hiring, on-boarding, developing,mentoring ofengineering staff, including technical guidance.
• Point of contact forclienton roadway projects to relay technical and administrative information.
• Represent the company atclient/agencymeetings, conferences, interviews, and industry events.
• Preparation of statement of interest and technical writeups for Project Approaches and proposals.
• Scoping, budgetdevelopmentand monitoring; lead contract preparations and negotiations.
• Guiding the firm’s development of any roadway work: calculations, plans, specs, and estimates.
• Oversee design for roadway geometry, drainage, MOT, utilities, grading, and relatedcomponents.
• Developing roadway alternatives and coordinating with other disciplines throughout Phase I and II.
• Ensure compliance with IDOT, Tollway,federal,and local agencyhighwaystandards.
• Coordinateclosely with structural,geotech, hydraulicstomeet functional and geometric needs.

What We're Looking For

• Based in the Chicagoareaor willing torelocate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. AMaster’sdegree is a plus.
• AnIllinoisPE license isrequired.
• At least 10+ years of roadway design experience, ideally with IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects.
• Mastery and extensiveexperience withFHWA,IDOT,Tollwayand other relevant design codes.
• Mastery and extensive experiencewithMicrostationand Open Roads Designer area must.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to make quick and confident decisions.
• Ability to keep projects organized within scope and schedule while guiding junior engineers.
• Highly organizedwiththe ability to manage/lead multiple projects and priorities.
• A genuine interest in contributing to a growing, small, close-knitfirm and team.
