Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc. is seeking a transportation engineer for its Illinois offices (Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville, Mokena or Bannockburn). The role focuses on design leadership and development of transportation projects for state, county, tollway, and local agencies, with IDOT Phase I/II bid document experience required.

The position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, PE licensure, and 5+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
5+ years’ experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.
Ability to travel throughout Illinois service areas.

Responsibilities

Manage/complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
Manage/complete IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects is preferred but not required.
Help prepare project-specific proposals, contract preparation, and teaming arrangements, and participate in project interviews.
