Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc. in Illinois invites an entry-level Transportation Engineer to contribute to design and construction engineering on municipal, county, and state projects across Bannockburn, Chicago O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena offices.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, perform drainage and traffic studies, prepare plans using Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads, and support project delivery from concept through documentation.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Relevant internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway projects is preferred.
• Anticipated FE certification is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway, underground utility, and infrastructure improvements using Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Prepare general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Develop engineering plans and specifications following IDOT standards.
• Assist with Federal-Aid Phase I and II projects and with construction engineering services.
