Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and lean tools to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost across operations in Phoenix, AZ. You will collaborate with leaders and front-line teams to map processes, identify gaps, and implement Kaizen events and VSMs.

Ideal candidates have a engineering or related degree, 5+ years in transportation or supply chain, and strong MS Office and data visualization skills (Power BI/Tableau).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• 5+ years in transportation or supply chain.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and SQL basics.
• Knowledge of CI methods: PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S.
• Understanding core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, labor planning, layouts).
• Familiar with dedicated services and managed transportation networks; equipment types.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes.
• Manages CI projects delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develops competency in lean methods and coaches others in CI principles.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events across all stages.
• Provides regular reports and recommendations to site leadership.
