Job summary

Eversource Energy invites a Senior Transmission Systems Planning engineer to advance reliability-centered planning and long-range grid studies. You will coordinate with ISO-NE and regional owners to address voltage, thermal, stability, and new technology integration while guiding junior staff.

The role demands a Master’s in engineering (Ph.D. preferred) and 10+ years in transmission planning, with a PE license preferred. A hybrid work model is supported in CT and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering is required.
• Ph.D. in engineering is preferred.
• Minimum ten years of transmission planning experience.
• PE license is preferred.
• Experience applying planning procedures (NERC/NPCC/ISO-NE).

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability and/or scenario-based planning studies across various system conditions.
• Provide engineering input for robust, low-cost solutions.
• Review data and assumptions from regional/industry stakeholders.
• Coordinate with ISO-New England and transmission owners.
• Communicate results through reports and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop standards for new tech.
