Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Principal Engineer-Transmission Planning to lead reliability and scenario-based studies for the bulk electric power system. Based in Hartford, CT, Berlin, CT, or Westwood, MA, you will drive long-range load forecasting, HVDC/IBR modeling, and design of infrastructure like transmission lines and storage, coordinating with ISO-NE and NERC standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or science field required.
• Ph.D. degree in engineering preferred.
• Minimum of ten years’ specialized experience in transmission planning or related work.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability and/or scenario-based planning studies for existing and forecast system conditions.
• Develop robust, reliable, low-cost solutions and provide engineering input.
• Review data and assumptions from regional stakeholders and experts.
• Coordinate with ISO-New England, area transmission owners, and Eversource departments.
• Document results and prepare reports and presentations.
• Train and advise junior engineers in the group.
