Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Transmission System Planning team. The role provides transmission-focused subject matter expertise in power system studies and project development through modeling and development of the transmission grid.

The position requires extensive modeling, analysis, and planning experience for transmission lines and substations within an electric power system, with involvement in regional committees such as NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, and ISO-NE.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of directly related experience.
• Knowledge of transmission planning standards and reliability criteria.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with industry committees (NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system models for transmission studies.
• Conduct adequacy assessments and propose delivery options.
• Represent the department on industry committees.
• Collaborate with ISO-NE and other utilities on regional studies.
• Train junior staff in analyses and procedures.
• Plan and manage the life cycle for transmission assets.
• Communicate results clearly in writing and presentations.
• Contribute to budget development for electric operations.
