Job summary

WSP is seeking a Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager to lead complex siting and permitting efforts for energy infrastructure across PA, NJ, or MD offices. You will guide routing studies, provide regulatory oversight, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality technical reports.

You will mentor junior staff, support proposals and pricing, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, biology, natural sciences, ecology, environmental planning, environmental science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy-related infrastructure.
• Ability to lead project teams independently while guiding others.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills with clients, agencies, and colleagues.
• Experience preparing proposals, presentations, and project pricing structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to define and manage client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a siting and environmental permitting SME for electric transmission, substations, and renewable energy projects.
• Manage and direct routing and siting studies, analyses, and technical reports.
• Provide technical oversight for environmental permitting and planning across project phases.
• Develop public involvement strategies, including open houses and hearings.
• Apply professional judgment to regulatory requirements and field observations to develop defensible solutions.
• Maintain familiarity with state and regional regulatory frameworks and interact with agency personnel.
