Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager to lead technically complex routing, siting, and environmental permitting for energy infrastructure across PA/NJ/MD. The role blends hands-on technical work with project leadership, mentorship, and client relationship management.

You will direct routing studies, environmental permitting activities, and public involvement programs, while guiding cross-functional teams to deliver quality results and support growth of WSP’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, biology, natural sciences or ecology, environmental planning, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy-related infrastructure
• Ability to lead project teams and work independently while guiding staff
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills for interacting with agencies and stakeholders
• Experience in proposals, presentations, and project pricing
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to define client requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to synthesize complex information
• Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager or Task Leader, overseeing multiple projects at different stages and locations
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, scientists, permitting specialists, and attorneys
• Provide direction and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables
• Mentor junior staff and support professional growth
• Support business development, client relationships, proposals, and pricing
• Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, and WSP policies
• Uphold ethical decision-making and conduct in line with WSP standards
• Contribute to growth of the transmission siting and permitting practice
