LS Power is seeking a Manager, Transmission Planning to lead studies for its expanding transmission portfolio. Based in St.

Louis, MO with possible remote options, you will oversee complex power system analyses and guide interconnection efforts with utilities, consultants, and ISO/RTOs. You will collaborate with Development, Engineering, Regulatory, and Operations teams to identify reliable, economical solutions and to support project development and acquisitions.

Qualifikationen

• Experience performing power flow and short circuit studies.
• Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and ISO/RTO processes.
• Hands-on modeling with PSS/E, PowerWorld, or similar tools.
• Experience across ISO/RTO regions and interconnection processes.
• Ability to lead complex technical assignments and mentor engineers.

Aufgaben

• Lead and perform complex power system modeling and simulations including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, and production cost studies.
• Lead transmission planning studies to identify system needs, constraints, and opportunities for reliability and economic enhancements.
• Develop and evaluate transmission solutions and provide technical recommendations for project development and investment decisions.
• Manage, coordinate, review, and interpret interconnection and transmission studies performed by utilities, ISO/RTOs, consultants, and other external parties.
• Lead technical activities associated with generation and transmission interconnection processes across ISO/RTO regions.
• Provide transmission planning expertise in support of project development, acquisitions, due diligence, and evaluation of transmission opportunities across NERC regions.
• Support transmission asset operations and regulatory compliance activities.
• Partner cross-functionally with Development, Engineering, Regulatory, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to advance transmission projects.
• Represent LS Power's interests before ISO/RTOs and on regional and national committees and task forces.
• Monitor developments in FERC policy, Open Access Tariffs, NERC requirements, and evolving ISO/RTO processes.
• Manage relationships with external consultants and stakeholders and communicate study results clearly to diverse audiences.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers and contribute to planning best practices.
