Zusammenfassung

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced transmission line engineer to design lines from 69kV to 500kV, perform cost analyses, and develop criteria for routing and siting. You will lead a small project team, work with vendors/clients, and mentor junior staff in a dynamic, code-compliant environment.

Applicants should have a BS in engineering (ABET-accredited), strong PLS-CADD skills, and 5+ years of related experience, with familiarity in NESC/IEEE/IBC standards and MS Office.

Qualifikationen

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software and ability to review transmission line models.
• 5+ years of experience as a member of a project team observing schedules and budgets on transmission line projects.
• Knowledge to verify right-of-way requirements, conductor sag/tensions, line plans and construction documents.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong written and verbal communication; attention to detail.

Aufgaben

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Cost analyses, development of design criteria, routing and siting of transmission lines.
• Conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Direct a small project team.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
• Occasional travel for site visits and client meetings.
• Mentor experienced staff and interact with diverse client base.
