Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Project Engineer to drive programs from pursuit to close-out. You will apply integrated project management, lead bid efforts, and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, strong communication, and leadership skills. Onsite work, with potential travel, and a supportive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications.

Responsibilities

• Apply integrated project management, technical consistent process, earned value, and risk management techniques.
• Review customer requirements and statements of work to determine project scope.
• Lead Test Engineering bid efforts and develop bid documentation and reviews.
• Develop a program execution plan coordinating Test Engineering with external organizations.
• Execute projects meeting requirements, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
• Lead and present project reviews with the team and customers.
• Create and review technical documents for submittal to customers.
• Track, report, and analyze earned value metrics to inform staffing and scheduling.
• Advocate for project staffing and foster a one-team environment.
