Job summary

Convergenz is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer / Telecommunications SME to lead and support NAS telecom infrastructure, guiding field teams while deploying fiber and IP-based circuits. A key focus is migrating legacy TDM/copper systems to modern fiber and IP networks.

You will mentor staff, translate designs into robust IP solutions, and drive testing, activation, cutovers, and validation across large-scale ground and air-to-ground networks for mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; 4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• 8+ years of hands‑on telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning experience.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6.
• Hands‑on experience with TDM-to-IP migration, fiber/optical networking, telecom hardware, testing, and validation.
• Experience with large‑scale telecommunications infrastructure and network capacity planning.
• Experience supporting ground networks, air‑to‑ground systems, or other mission‑critical telecommunications environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, testing, and deployment of telecommunications systems supporting the NAS.
• Translate network architecture and designs into working IP network solutions.
• Lead hands‑on TDM-to-IP migrations, including circuit activation, cutovers, testing, and validation.
• Review requirements and designs, identify technical gaps, and coordinate changes with engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving network protocols, telecom hardware, servers, and infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance using dashboards, KPIs, and operational data to ensure reliability and resiliency.
• Provide technical direction, status updates, and briefings to project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Serve as a technical mentor/SME for field engineering teams.
