Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain fiber and coaxial transport networks, from the headend to customers’ devices. You’ll support headend electronics, perform end-to-end troubleshooting, and mentor junior techs to ensure reliable service.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, DOT readiness, and FTTH/RFOG knowledge. You’ll work on-site in Blythe, contributing to network reliability and customer satisfaction. Pay ranges reflect experience and market norms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing within the state of residence and meet DOT driver qualification standards.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card and CDL where applicable; comply with DOT requirements.
• Qualified to obtain licenses required by the state of installation/servicing (if applicable).
• Ability to use testing equipment (signal level meters, ohm meters).
• BDS & BTS certification preferred.
• Fiber repair and troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of FTTH & RFOG architecture including Rolt, backhaul and distribution of plant.
• Experience with FTTH network tools (AGORA, Netwin, Net-Q).
• Experience with ISP or Hot Hands for ISP; OSP construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair transport, trunk, and distribution networks from headend to customer devices.
• Maintain a unity gain network.
• Perform FCC-required network tests.
• Assist in duties of lower-grade technicians as needed.
• Coordinate and oversee training for team members and participate in performance assessments.
