Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive surveying experience with leadership or management roles.
• Strong knowledge of field and office survey operations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• North Carolina PLS preferred or ability to obtain.
• Strong leadership and team development across field and office.
• Understanding of various survey types (boundary, topographic, construction staking, ALTA, etc.).
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal surveying regulations and standards.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Proficiency with survey technology (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, drones/UAS a plus).
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 60-70% billable utilization while leading the Charlotte office.
• Oversee all survey operations for the Charlotte office, including fieldwork and office production.
• Ensure quality control and consistency across all survey deliverables.
• Manage project lifecycles from proposal through completion, including scheduling and budgeting.
• Prepare proposals and contracts; assist in client negotiations.
• Monitor project budgets, billing, and profitability.
• Collaborate with leadership to align Charlotte with company goals.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for field and office workflows.
• Oversee training programs for field crews and CAD staff; promote best practices and new technologies.
• Support business development and expand Charlotte market presence.
• Step into project management/operational roles during high workload periods.
• Evaluate and implement new survey technologies for efficiency and accuracy.
