Job summary

Bateman Civil Survey Company is seeking an Associate Director for the Myrtle Beach office to oversee all survey-related operations, including field and office staff, project execution, quality control, and growth across boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS, and utility surveys. You will mentor staff, scale operations, and drive technology adoption.

The role requires 10+ years in surveying with leadership experience; strong AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency is essential; SC PLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in surveying, including leadership or management roles.
• Strong working knowledge of field and office survey operations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a target of 60–70% billable utilization while balancing leadership responsibilities.
• Oversee all survey operations for the Myrtle Beach office, including fieldwork and office production.
• Ensure quality control and consistency across all survey deliverables.
• Manage project lifecycles from proposal through completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and assist in negotiations with clients.
• Monitor project budgets, billing, and profitability.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for field and office workflows.
• Oversee training programs for field crews and CAD staff, ensuring adoption of best practices and new technologies.
• Support business development efforts and help grow the Myrtle Beach market presence.
