Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator in Jacksonville, FL, to direct and coordinate scheduling for all clinic physicians. You will work under supervision of Department Director/Ambulatory Administrator to ensure continuity of care and effective scheduling for procedures.

The role involves liaison with departments, insurers, surgeons, and hospital teams to optimize patient flow, preoperative processes and achieve departmental goals. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 4 years working in an ambulatory healthcare environment.
• 4 years customer service experience.
• 4 years working with third-party payors/insurance carriers.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required at time of hire.
• EPIC EMR experience and orthopedic scheduling familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and facilitate the surgical scheduling activities for all clinic physicians.
• Act as liaison between department and surgical/financial areas to ensure continuity of care.
• Oversee daily surgical scheduling, including staffing, training and feedback.
• Work with the Director/Office Manager on scheduling and workflow to meet production and quality goals.
• Attend meetings and educate staff on new processes, policies and procedures.
