Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks experienced SUE field professionals to designate utilities, perform 2D/3D mapping, and lead crews in complex environments. You will coordinate with clients and utility owners in the field, ensuring ASCE 38 compliance and accurate data collection for vault diagrams and structures.

The role emphasizes leadership of SUE QL-A/QL-B teams, travel, and adherence to safety and MVR standards while supporting projects from rural to urban settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; travel for extended periods.
• Thorough understanding of ASCE 38 guidelines and quality levels.
• 4–5 years of SUE field experience preferred.
• Experience as lead on SUE QL-A & QL-B field crews required.
• Project-level field supervision on SUE QL-A & QL-B projects preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR standards compliance.
• Survey experience preferred; military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designate utilities in rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment and survey methods.
• Coordinate with clients, utility owners, and field third parties in the field.
• Manage SUE field crews and mapping projects (2D/3D QL-B, QL-A).
• Apply non-standard surface geophysical gear to mark complex underground systems.
• Collect data for vault diagrams and 3D mapping projects.
• Lead vacuum excavator operations and test hole excavation under varied conditions.
