Job summary

WSP USA looks for a Substations Project Manager to lead HV/EHV substation projects across multiple U.S. locations, including Columbus, OH.

You will oversee engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and energization, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence. In this role you will develop project plans, manage budgets and resources, coordinate with design, construction, and client teams, and drive risk management and QA/QC across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of progressive project management experience in HV/EHV substation or utility-scale power delivery projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery lifecycle in A/E/C industry with emphasis on electrical substation engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and energization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HV/EHV substation projects, including budgets, schedules, risk management, QA/QC, and safety compliance.
• Lead cross-functional engineering, design, and construction teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain project initiation/setup documents (RMP, PMP, QP, PSP, Communications Plan).
• Coordinate resource planning, subcontracting, and procurement activities.
• Monitor earned value, cash flow, and budget performance; provide regular client reporting.
