Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades seeks an experienced Substation Technician with hands-on experience in bus systems and high-voltage equipment (12kV–500kV+). You will perform testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of substations and switchyards, reading One-Line Diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and ensuring safety per OSHA/NFPA 70E.

Travel within Texas is required with per diem and company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years in substation/switchyard or power systems.
• Experience with high-voltage systems (12kV–500kV+).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair substation equipment.
• Perform testing including insulation resistance, contact resistance, relay, CT/PT, and transformer tests.
• Assist with commissioning and startup of new substations and switchyards.
