RMS Energy is seeking a Lead P&C Field Technician in Denver to lead installation, testing, and commissioning of protection and control systems for substations. You will work with experienced field staff to verify relays, breakers, transformers, and related equipment across utility and energy sites.

Ideal candidates have a strong electrical engineering foundation, 10+ years of relay testing experience, and familiarity with IEEE/NERC standards.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Systems.
• 10+ years of experience in relay testing, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of protection and control systems in substation environments.

Aufgaben

• Oversee installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning of relays, breakers, transformers, and power protection devices.
• Verify breaker trip circuits, recloser logic, SCADA points, and alarm outputs.
• Coordinate testing/validation of CTs, PTs, CVTs, pilot wire, power line carrier, and fiber optic systems.
• Maintain job records: service reports, test forms, calibration logs, trip tests, commissioning sign-offs.
• Ensure activities meet site safety requirements and RMS Energy policies, including JHA, PPE, LOTO.
• Provide technical feedback to engineering and project management on field conditions and hazards.
• Interface with clients during pre-job briefs, updates, issue discussions, and turnover.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to meet milestones.
• Conduct site walkdowns, field evaluations, and risk assessments for upcoming tests.
• Participate in post-project reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform QA reviews of test procedures and verify documentation completeness.
• Assume other duties as assigned.
• Bonus points for hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, or troubleshooting protection and control systems.
• Bonus points for SCADA/automation system exposure in field environments.
• Bonus points for experience in union and non-union settings.
