Job summary

RMS Energy seeks a Lead P&C Field Engineer to support substation protection and control systems. You’ll test, troubleshoot, and commission relays, breakers, transformers, and power equipment across utility and industrial sites.

You’ll coordinate verification of trip circuits, SCADA points, and fault logs, while ensuring safety and quality documentation. This role is ideal for experienced engineers prepared for field leadership in Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Systems.
• 10+ years of experience in relay testing, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of protection and control systems in substation environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of relays, breakers, transformers, and other protection devices.
• Verify breaker trip circuits, recloser logic, SCADA points, and alarm outputs.
• Coordinate testing of CTs, PTs, CVTs, pilot wire, power line carrier, and fiber optic systems.
• Maintain detailed service reports, test forms, calibration logs, trip tests, and commissioning sign-offs.
• Follow site safety requirements including JHA, PPE, and LOTO.
