Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead electrical substation construction, expansion, modernization, and upgrade projects. You willprovide overall leadership for planning, scheduling, cost control, contract administration, resource allocation, quality, and client coordination across greenfield and brownfield substations.

You will work closely with Superintendents, Engineering, Estimating, Procurement, Safety, and corporate teams to drive project delivery from

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible construction project management with substantial substation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation projects from preconstruction to turnover, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Review contracts, drawings, and BOMs to identify gaps and risks.
• Develop execution plans, baseline schedules, and cost forecasts.
• Coordinate with field teams and engineering to sequence activities across disciplines.
• Manage budgets, billings, cash flow, and monthly financial reporting.
• Track costs vs budgets and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate procurement, delivery, and installation of major equipment.
• Maintain logs, approvals, and change order processes.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to estimating and business development.
