Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Project Engineer - Lead Professional to support scoping, engineering, and coordination for substations from the Amarillo, TX area with a remote work model. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring design quality across electrical, civil, and control disciplines.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years of post-education electrical experience, EIT certification, and strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience in electrical engineering for power systems & substations.
• Engineer-In-Training certification required.
• Strong knowledge of design/build and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead scoping and project engineering for medium-to-high voltage substations.
• Direct multidiscipline teams and manage scope/schedule/budget with the Project Manager.
• Perform high-level design reviews of Substation Physical, P&C, and Civil/Structural packages.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and subcontractors to ensure compliance and data integrity.
