Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Senior Engineer - Substation Physical to lead substation design and project execution across complex power systems. The role requires 12+ years of experience, expert substation physical design knowledge, and a PE license. You will mentor engineers and guide multidisciplinary teams through full project lifecycles.

The position is open nationwide with preferred proximity to multiple U.S. markets; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 12+ years of power systems experience is required.
• PE license is required.
• Substation physical design expertise is required.
• Experience managing complex engineering projects and budgets is expected.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert in substation physical engineering design and application.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, specialists, and technicians.
• Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions and best practices.
• Lead development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Manage projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and support.
• Create detailed substation physical designs, electrical layouts, BOMs, and estimates.
• Support customers with design, configuration, validation, testing, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, consultants, and stakeholders for successful outcomes.
• Promote safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Lead technical training and professional development of team members.
