Job summary

HDR seeks a Substation Engineering Manager (EM) to lead technical execution on high voltage substation projects. You will mentor engineers, develop execution plans, and ensure project quality across teams.

As a part of HDR’s Power Delivery group, you’ll collaborate with engineers and PMs, manage schedules and budgets, and contribute to industry‑leading designs while traveling as needed to support multiple locations in Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum of 10 years of management experience in substations or switchyards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical team and project execution for high voltage substation projects.
• Develop and implement project execution plans for technical scope.
• Mentor engineers and designers; provide guidance on deliverables and reviews.
• Coordinate quality checks per HDR QMS and ensure world‑class deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently across locations and interfaces with PMs.
